As President of FL2i, I participate in multiple Advisory Groups that address potential uses of social media for specific purposes of the diversified communities of Florida. Each group is formed by thought leaders who are members of public and private organizations across the State and who participate in many different industries and have different professional interests. The first challenge that we face at FL2i is to overcome cultural barriers among the adult population in the adoption of a Web 2.0 culture -- as the natural evolution of the Web -- to serve the purposes identified by our Advisory Groups. The next challenge will be to follow the Web trends (i.e., Web 3.0) to help build a competitive knowledge society in Florida -- once the potential of the social web has been realized.
